Influnce

Praashekh’s renditions show a vast range of influences from Indian classical music to jazz to Andalusian.

His swift taankaari, influenced by Paco De Lucia and John McLaughlin, coupled with aesthetic meend-work influenced by Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and Nikhil Banerjee have wowed audiences all around the globe.

Both Praashekh and his younger brother Abhishek received training in a very unique way from their father Pt. Shekhar Borkar, such that both have created their own individual path and style of rendering classical music, which when performed together creates an ambience and experience like no other.

With the Aim of promoting and teaching Indian classical music and arts to aspiring students in Australia, he has Founded the Praashekh Borkar Academy of Music in Australia.
